Tapper Funeral Service

Floral tributes

Entertaining family and friends after the funeral is increasingly found to be an important part of the funeral; it is an opportunity to get together less formally than at the funeral, relax and remember the person who has died. However, it is important not to let the arrangement of this become so stressful that it might adversely affect the funeral itself.

The considerations for a successful reception include location and convenience, taking into account where people are travelling from and home to afterwards. Adequate car parking at the location is always helpful. Most hotels and pubs are able to offer such facilities; social and sports clubs will usually offer assistance for their members or relatives of members (e.g. British Legion, golf club etc).

If you decide to have a reception at home, you may like to consider some assistance with catering; this assistance can often double up as house security as well.

Catering assistance at home

Provision only
Food and drink ready prepared and wrapped is delivered to your home in platters at a predetermined time. Crockery etc can also be delivered on the same basis. This can be an inexpensive way to cater for guests without putting pressure on yourselves.

Provision and setting up
A representative arrives at your house prior to your departure and in your absence prepares and sets up the food and drink. This has the added benefit of security for the house while you are away.

Provision and service
As above but in addition staff are on hand throughout the event to distribute food, fill glasses, make coffee etc. All crockery etc is provided and removed from your home afterwards, leaving it as it had been prior to the event.

The cost of these services depends entirely on the number of guests being catered for and the quality of the food expected; costs are therefore quoted on request
