Tapper Funeral Service

History

A family tradition - a message from Christopher Tapper

My grandfather, Henry Tapper, started our funeral directing business in 1904, originally in the High Street, Poole and soon after in Towngate Street.

My father, Cyril Tapper, took over the business when Henry died in 1940 and in 1950 the business moved to the current premises in Parkstone Road.

I joined the company in 1963 and my sons, Steven and Paul, followed in 1985 and 1988 respectively; they are the fourth generation of my family to be funeral directors. Indeed we are now the only remaining long-established family owned and run funeral business in Poole. In recent years we have extended our facilities to new areas with offices at The Broadway, Broadstone, and at High Street, Milford-on-Sea and in partnership with Alan Rice at Wimborne Road, Moordown, with the Haley Family in New Milton and Highcliffe and with Peter Crutcher in Ringwood. We have installed the very latest equipment at all of our offices, and our interviewing lounges provide an atmosphere of comfort and tranquillity. The staff are personally selected by me and represent the very best in their individual fields. I hope you find our service to be personal, helpful, efficient and unobtrusive. Remember, one of my family is always available to you personally if needed.
