Donations to Charity

Important Note

Some credit card providers charge very large commissions upon transactions; some as much as 3%. We consider this to be too high and therefore do not accept some cards, including American Express and some variations of Master Card and Visa including those suffixed with ‘Corporate’, ‘Business’ or ‘World’. Normal Master Card and Visa should be fine. Transactions attempted with the higher charging credit cards will be declined by our Sagepay Account. If this should prove to be the case, we hope you understand that we cannot afford to lose 3% on a transaction charge, especially on in memorium donations where we pass on 100% of your donation to the charity and we pay the commission to the credit card companies.

Gift Aid

If you have ticked the box titled ‘Gift Aid?’ then you confirm that you are a UK Income or Capital Gains taxpayer. That you have read this statement and want the named charity or Community Amateur Sports Club (CASC) to reclaim tax on the donation detailed on this form, given today. That you understand that You must pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax in the tax year at least equal to the amount of tax that all the charities and CASCs you donate to, will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. That you understand that other taxes such as VAT and Council Tax do not qualify. That you understand the charity will reclaim 25p of tax on every £1 that you have given.

Please notify us or the charity or CASC if you:

  1. Want to cancel this declaration

  2. Change your name or home address

  3. No longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.

If you pay Income Tax at the higher or additional rate and want to receive the additional tax relief due to you, you must include all your Gift Aid donations on your Self Assessment tax return or ask HM Revenue and Customs to adjust your tax code.

Book of Remembrance

"Peter was the youngest of we three boys so I have known him all his life. So very sad."

Brian Hughes - 19th March 24

"My brother in law was a very funny man, dry, understated with a brain the size of a planet. He defied the odds in the face of leukemia in a typically undramatic fashion, in much the same way that he supported my sister when their world turned upside down, and then stayed that way. I think he would have enjoyed his funeral immensely, albeit in a slightly embarrassed, self deprecating fashion - the beautiful, almost surreal, setting, the lovely, warm, touching tributes from his children and colleagues, the mispronunciation of his first wife's name by the celebrant.. It was a fitting tribute to an extraordinary life."

Rick Walker - 18th March 24

"With happy memories of times shared round the table, sampling fine wine, cider, beers and lively conversation. We had hoped to have you as a neighbour and friend for a whole lot longer. A true gentleman. "

Sara and Derek - 16th March 24

Christine + Klaus Luft, Eschborn - 13th March 24

"I was very sad to hear about Peter’s passing. He was a super genuine person who will be sorely missed at Sturminster Marshall golf club."

Jim Garvey - 12th March 24

"It is with deep sorrow that we heard that Peter passed away. Over the 30+ years we have known Peter - in the office or privately, he appeared as a quiet and sharply thinking person. We also discovered his talent as writer of private newsletters, loved his guitar sessions at home and were pleased to have him celebrating his 60th birthday with his friends in Germany in our home . Very impressive lastly, his pro-active and positive dealing with adversity: a lesson for life. Our thoughts are with every single member of Peter's family at this sad time."

Thomas "

Thomas Martin - 16th February 24

"It is with great sadness that I learnt of Peter’s passing . I have only known Peter a short time , but had the pleasure & enjoyment of playing golf with him a few times & chatting over a coffee after playing. He was a pleasant, gentle man , wise , warm & very welcoming. My thoughts go out to his family at this time & I will miss him. Rest in peace Peter."

Graham Burt - 16th February 24

"I worked with Peter back in the 90s in Bournemouth with the EFSC . Peter had inherited a somewhat demoralised team but under his leadership we turned it around; he was a very decent man and cared about his staff. Over the last six months we had been emailing and talking over the phone to share our experiences of the big C. "

Melvyn Jones - 16th February 24

"Everyone at Sturminster Marshall Golf Club will miss Peter. He was a quiet, gentle man who contributed greatly to the Club and was a joy to play with. My thoughts are with his family at this sad time."

Claire Perry - 16th February 24
