“Dearest Amanda, you were the best Godmother I could have ever asked for. You inspired me in so many ways and were always so incredibly kind, fun and generous. I have so many fond memories with you Mark and Basil that I will cherish forever. I will think of you every time I see the sea and travel the world :) You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace. Lots of love, Sophie xxx"

“Amanda, you were kind, caring, hardworking but pragmatic, with a great sense of humour - which we often needed - and always thinking of others. A true friend who will be much missed. Many good memories to treasure. "

After plenty of phone calls over many years, we finally managed to meet in Falmouth in 2016 when Mark and I had to attend a business meeting. By coincidence, it was also Mark's birthday and we celebrated it through a very pleasant evening that I distinctly remember. You were enthusiastic, fun and truly kind, just like Mark. What a wonderful pair! I offer my deepest condolences to Mark and Amanda's family.

“What fond memories spent with you at the very start of my “introduction to yachting”..... and what an introduction that was with Ian involved! What fun times and I have great memories in particular of my visit to the barge in France and all the other vino fuelled visits around the world..... I hope you now find a good vintage wherever you may be and someone like John to keep you company - such a small world to discover you were such good friends.
Mark my deepest sympathies to you, i know you will miss her terribly as you were such a great team with a lot of love between you.
With love Fiona xx"

Always smiling, cheery and caring. I have very fond memories of meeting you, even if it was only a few times. Working with Mark it was always obvious to me just how important you were (and are) to him. How lucky he was to have shared such a fulfilling life with you. He’ll have plenty of love and support from us all. "

We met at school almost 50 years ago and have been friends ever since!
You were a wonderful friend to me and a lovely, kind and always interested Godmother to Sophie.
During the time you were ill, you were an inspiration to us all - you were always positive and never gave up. I will always laugh at the memory of the Doctor suggesting you had a trip away to which you replied you had always wanted to go to Sri Lanka!! A weekend in Devon was more what he had in mind.......
My thoughts are with Mark, your Mother, Cathryn, Lucy, Simon and their family. You have been taken far too early and I shall miss you so much going forward, especially our lunches at the Bush in Ovington.
Lots of love

“Darling Manda. You were a dear friend. An example to us all on how to live life to the full. You have been taken from our lives far too soon but we have been left with over forty years of wonderful precious memories. We had looked forward to so many more. You are at least resting peacefully now with your lovely companion Basil. I find the following saying comforting: 'Heaven is a place where all the dogs you have ever loved come to greet you'. All my family send you Mark and her family our condolences. We were very lucky to have known her and will miss her enormously. She is a star in the night sky now."

“Dearest Amanda - I remember the very first day we met. It was around 1994 when you came to our Pall Mall Offices with Mark and Ian McG to talk about yachts. A 25 year friendship with you and Mark ensued with so many fond and lovely memories. "Mark and Amanda" is a bit like saying "Salt and Pepper" - you just went together and belonged together. We met up in so many different places apart from England - and we enjoyed many great mealstogether with lots and lots of wine! One of the last times we met was when we were both sailing in Greece and we rendezvoused our boats off the island of Skorpios. You will be missed by so many - but we are all blessed to have known you, to have loved you and to have had such fun with you. Memories of you will live on forever. With love, Joff Beckett & Family x"
