Woods & Tapper Funeral Service have served the local community of Dorchester and the surrounding areas for well over a 120 years. They provide a comprehensive range of services from practical assistance with arranging a funeral through to advice and support for the bereaved.

Pauline Guy, Funeral Director & Manager is a member of Institute of Funeral Directors and holds the Diploma in Funeral Directing. Pauline joined the company in 2005, following a long career in banking and finance. Becci Wiles, who has has lived on Portland and in Weymouth all of her life, joined the company in September 2020 and in 2025 Morten Vilhelmsen joined the team.

In 2024 we moved to our new Dorchester funeral home on Albert Road where a spacious Victorian house with beautiful gardens was evolved for our purposes and where families can access the full range of services provided by Tapper Funeral Service and Harbour View Crematorium. The Chapels of Rest at the Dorchester Funeral Home can also be used to as a Ceremony Hall for those families that want to hold a small and quiet funeral service without travelling to a crematorium or cemetery.

Although we are firmly part of the local community, every arrangement is supported by the wider expertise, facilities, and care of our dedicated team.
