Tapper Funeral Service Office and Funeral Home in Christchurch

In 2006 an opportunity arose to purchase a garage and car showroom on the corner of Barrack Road and Portfield Road in Christchurch. By the end of 2009 the old buildings had been demolished and a new purpose-built funeral home designed and built.

The new funeral home offers ample parking for clients, a comfortable private lounge in which to discuss arrangements, a private chapel of rest and a Ceremony Hall with full audio/visual and webcasting facilities for funeral ceremonies to be conducted.

Tapper Funeral Service is proud to serve the people of Christchurch and surrounding areas from this funeral home.

Jack Stanisstreet is the Branch Manager and has been in the profession for over 15 years and achieved his Diploma in Funeral Directing in 2017. Jack has gained his many years of experience working across the south coast and London covering nearly every role within the funeral profession, gaining a vast knowledge of each aspect.

Jack is supported by Funeral Directors Jessica Ratcliffe and Jon Miles.

Jon Miles has been with Tapper Funeral Service for just over 17 years. During his time, he has been in a variety of roles, before becoming a Funeral Director in 2014. He qualified as a Crematorium Technician in 2017 and later as a Celebrant in 2020. In May 2026, Jon transferred to the Christchurch branch to serve the community he has called home all his life as Senior Funeral Director. Being actively involved in the community is an important part of his role, and he values the opportunity to build lasting relationships with the families he serves.

Jessica joined the team at Tappers four years ago as a Funeral Director. After a rewarding career in the Learning and Development side of HR, she was drawn to a role where she could focus entirely on people and caring for them, her passion.

Living locally with her husband and two children, Jessica is deeply rooted in the community. Outside of work, she volunteers for Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service, leading a Fire Cadets Unit in Ringwood, who she proudly partnered with Macmillan Caring Locally, where she is a keen fundraiser.

On your arrival to the funeral home you will be greeted by our wonderful receptionist Michelle Fisher. Michelle Fisher has a wealth of experience in administration having previously worked at the RNLI, the NHS and The Regent Centre in Christchurch. She has worked in the funeral industry for over seven years. Michelle is a Christchurch local, born and bred, and is passionate about contributing to and supporting her local community. Outside of work Michelle enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Tapper Funeral Service Office and Funeral Home in Christchurch

Complete Funeral Services for Dorset

From our Christchurch funeral home on Barrack Road families can access the full range of services provided by Tapper Funeral Service and Harbour View Crematorium.

Although we are firmly part of the local community, every arrangement is supported by the wider expertise, facilities, and care of our dedicated team.

From Traditional Funerals to Simple Direct Cremations and Celebrations of Life

Whether you are planning a traditional funeral, considering a service at Harbour View, or looking for a more personal or non-religious ceremony, everything can be arranged through our Christchurch office.

The cost of a funeral depends on the level of service you, the family or the deceased loved one choose to have. There is a growing trend towards simple unattended or direct cremations without a formal ceremony, followed by a celebration of life gathering at a venue of choice convenient for all friends and family.

Pre-paid Funeral Plans and Bereavement Support

We also offer pre-paid funeral plans for those wishing to make arrangements in advance, along with direct cremation options, including unattended cremations for a simple and lower-cost choice.

Support continues beyond the funeral, with free access to the Outlook Bereavement support service, offering guidance and reassurance in the weeks and months following the loss of a loved one.

Our aim is always to provide compassionate, locally delivered care, supported by the full professional experience of Tapper Funeral Service, a family-owned and operated company helping bereaved local families since 1904.
